The scientific program coordinated by Dr. Christian Haas will concern snow and ice thickness measurements during the expedition. These data will be collected all the way between North Pole and Ellesmere Island which is significative of icefloe melting state. The results will be compared to the ones done in the past and also to aerial and satellites data. By improving data bases with fieldwork measures, they will help keeping a watch over melting rate of the sea ice in the arctic.
